The Rugglestone Inn, in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, has been named as Pub of the Year by the South Devon Campaign for Real Ale. The Rugglestone is a stunning inn, in a stunning location, in the picture-postcard Dartmoor village of Widecombe in the Moor. This grade II listing building started life as a traditional cottage, and was converted to an inn in 1832. Just a few minutes walk from the centre of Widecombe, the Rugglestone is surrounded by peaceful moorland and adjacent to a pretty moorland stream. Step inside and, in addition to a warm welcome, you'll find a cozy bar with a wood stove, and two further rooms, one of which has an open log fire. There's a large sheltered garden - the perfect spot in which to enjoy a pint of Dartmoor Brewery ale on a summer's day. In addition to Dartmoor Brewery ales, you'll find other real ales, farm ciders and a well-chosen wine list. The menu of home-cooked meals has locally sourced Devon produce at its core. Pop along to the Rugglestone - a Dartmoor destination in its own right, or the perfect stop-off on a day out on the moor.
