The Great British Beer Garden: The Tally Ho

Posted by Mike Coombes in Aug 2020

Next up in our series on the delights of the Great British Beer Garden is the excellent Tally Ho Country Pub - a real gem of a place in glorious rural Devon.

The Tally Ho may be slightly off the beaten track, but it's very easy to find - in the tiny village of Littlehempston just a few miles from the popular and eclectic Devon riverside town of Totnes - making it a perfect watering hole on a day out in this utterly picturesque part of Devon.

Inside you'll find a homely atmosphere and good honest banter (with crackling log fires in the cooler months) - but right now the Tally Ho's glorious beer garden is a real draw.  Plenty of space to relax and enjoy the fresh Devon air, with brilliantly kept Dartmoor ales on tap, and good hearty food at very appetising prices.

Mike and Kelly are your hosts at this perfect Devon pub (which was built in the 14th Century for the workers at the church, incidentally).  You'll find a very warm welcome (as will your four-legged friends, if you have them), and a relaxed, traditional pub atmosphere in a fine Devon setting.

Pint of Legend anyone?
