Cockleshell crew complete their epic Atlantic row

Posted by Mike C in Jan 2021

After fifty days and nights at sea, the awesome crew from the Cockleshell Atlantic Endeavour have completed their epic Atlantic row from Gran Canaria to Barbados.

The adventure was originally unveiled to the public last October at a fund-raising event at the White Thorn Inn at Shaugh Prior near Plymouth, supported by Dartmoor Brewery, where the crew were able to show off their boat and gather much-needed financial support for the venture and for their chosen causes.

The 3000-mile row, by two Royal Marines and two former commanders, has already raised close to £40,000 for the Cockleshell Endeavour Foundation and the Royal Marines Charity Fund.  Cockleshell Endeavour uses water-based endurance sport to help Royal Marines veterans overcome their physical and mental injuries to get their lives back on track.

It goes without saying that when team-members Brucey, Nutty, Junior and Wills stepped ashore in Barbados, they deserved a Jail Ale!
