It's now even easier to get to Dartmoor and experience one or two of our brilliant local pubs, with the re-opening of rail services linking the city of Exeter with Dartmoor National Park.

Newly named the Dartmoor Line, the new rail link offers up to 8 services a day from both Exeter St Davids and Exeter Central stations, and the town of Crediton, to the town of Okehampton on the Northern fringe of Dartmoor. 

Okehampton station is very well placed for a Dartmoor day out.  For something fairly leisurely, take a stroll down the hill from the station to explore the historic town itself....

The local pub is so often the beating heart of the community, and residents of the Devon village of Cornwood have taken things a step further by acquiring and running their own local.

The Cornwood Inn can be found in this charming village on the edge of Dartmoor. In September 2019, with the future of this characterful inn looking decidedly uncertain, the Cornwall Inn Action group was formed by a band of community volunteers, to secure the future of this traditional and much-loved pub via the sale of community shares.

Dartmoor Brewery's brilliant traditional beers have again been recognised on an international stage, with the brewery collecting two sought-after medals in the International Beer Challenge 2021.

The light and golden Dartmoor IPA was honoured with a Silver medal, whilst the popular and full-flavoured Legend scored a Bronze.
