Definitely one of the biggest and best events on the South West ale calendar, the Falmouth Beer Festival 2016 - courtesy of Cornwall CAMRA - was a jolly good few days out for all concerned - including the team from Dartmoor Brewery. The annual Falmouth Beer Festival takes place at the 1910-built Princess Pavilion, which is a year-round music, theatre and festival venue just a stone's throw from Falmouth's sandy beaches and splendid town centre. Dartmoor Brewery will be joining forces with the Two Bridges Hotel for an evening of delicious food and fabulous Dartmoor ales, on Thursday 11th November 2016. This unique Ale Tasting Dinner at the Two Bridges Hotel features a superb four-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef Mike Palmer and his talented team, with a perfectly-matched ale from Dartmoor Brewery served with each course. Limited edition 'Mad Jack' ale launched!

Recently we were approached by Captain Dan Withers from 3 Commando Brigade about producing a special edition ale to celebrate the life, and heroics, of Lt Col Jack Churchill, or 'Mad Jack' as he is more commonly known. After spending many hours being taught the history of Mad Jack by Captain Withers we were enthralled, and threw ourselves into creating this commemorative ale. We invited the Commandos over to the brewery where they tasted a few different recipes, and selected the perfect one which was destined to become Mad Jack. We are delighted to be able to support our friends at Jeremiah's Journey by creating this special, one-off bottle of beer. The beer, named after the incredible charity, will be given out at this year's Parish Plod, organised by Jeremiah's Journey to raise funds. Jeremiah's Journey is a fantastic charity based in Plymouth, Devon, which works with children who are grieving due to a bereavement. The charity supports over 200 children each year, with nearly half of the children having lost, or facing the loss, of a parent.
