Fine Ales with Fabulous Food - a guest blog by Darren Norbury

Posted by Mike Coombes Dartmoor Brewery in Nov 2017

Our guest contributor Darren Norbury brings us his thoughts on our recent Dartmoor Ale Tasting Dinner at the Two Bridges Hotel, where superb Dartmoor Brewery Ales were paired with award-winning food.  Darren is a member of the British Guild of Beer Writers, and editor of beertoday.co.uk.

Conventional wisdom says that when enjoying fine dining, wine is your accompaniment of choice. World Beers - a guest blog from our friends at Pub2Pub

Posted by Mike Coombes Dartmoor Brewery in Nov 2017

The Pub2Pub crew are currently on a globetrotting mission to find us the most inspirational beers in the world.  Here, they report back some of the findings they’ve made since leaving Dartmoor at the start of their mission to travel from the northernmost bar on the planet, to the southernmost.

Svalbard Bryggeri (Norway)

On our quest to begin The Pub2Pub Expedition at the northernmost bar on the planet, it was inevitable that a question would drift into our minds – what’s the world’s northernmost brewery?  Well, we found the answer surprisingly close to the northernmost bar – Svalbard Bryggeri, located in Longyearbyen,...

Whitehill Beer Festival

Posted by Mike Coombes Dartmoor Brewery in Oct 2017

Festival season isn't over yet!  Head down to Paignton for the rather splendid Whitehill Beer Festival, 20th to 22nd October, for great beers, hearty food, live music and family fun.

Head to the Hayloft Bar at Whitehill Country Park, where you'll find a tempting line-up of Devon's finest ales, including our own Jail Ale and Legend (which are always on tap at Whitehill).  There'll be a few ciders to try too, and some tantalising local gins.

The Whitehill Beer Festival is very much a family event, and there'll be a range of activities and crafts to occupy the youngsters.

When hunger strikes, head for the...

The brewery was started in 1994 and soon outgrew its original home so, in 2006, the brewery moved to its current location, occupying the site of...

Food, beer and music at Abbfest

Posted by Mike Coombes Dartmoor Brewery in Sep 2017

The festival season may be coming to an end, but not before the brilliant Abbfest 2017 - a Devon celebration of beer, food and music, Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th September.

Abbfest is a volunteer run festival, raising money for local Devon charities. In 13 years, Abbfest has waised a whopping £200,000 for great local causes.

Over three fabulous festival days, you can look forward to a massive celebration of local food, drink, craft and entertainment.  We'll be there with our full line-up of Dartmoor Brewery ales (including the first outing for Dragon's Breath since March), and there'll be a street food market, chef demonstrations, and...
