A pint of Jail Ale well earned for Ultramarathon competitors

Posted by Dartmoor Brewery in Jun 2015

UnknownOn Saturday 6th June, 240 of the toughest ultra distance runners in the country took part in Dartmoor Discovery's Ultramarathon which totalled a whopping 32 miles through theunforgiving hills of Dartmoor. Dartmoor Brewery were proud to support the challenging event that continues to grow in popularity each year, seeing this year's race sell out in a record six days. We were pleased to present Jail Ale gift packs to many of the competitors, including this year's winner, Toby Chapman who claimed victory after finishing in an impressive three hours and 51 minutes. Race Director, Roger Hayes said: Dartmoor Brewery is an ideal sponsor of the DD. The brewery represents everything that is great about Dartmoor and we look forward to forging a strong relationship with this iconic brand. The Ultramarathon is officially the longest single lap road ultra marathon in the UK and is considered a 'must do' race for many runners from all over the country and Europe. It combines stunning views with several tough hills and notoriously unpredictable weather, resulting in a true test of body and soul. Starting and finishing in Princetown, the race brought great excitement to our heartland and we were so pleased to support the Ultramarathon's fifth successful year.
