Plymouth cycle race gears up for its 10th year

On 25th and 26th July, cycling enthusiasts will flood into Newnham Park, Plymouth for the 10th Bontrager Twentyfour12 endurance mountain bike race. For the third year Dartmoor Brewery will support this brilliant event which welcomes cyclists of all levels to the fantastic off-road tracks and beautiful scenery of Newnham Park.
To mark a decade of sponsorship by Bontrager, we were asked by the organisers to create a Bontrager celebration ale. In fact, we've brewed 92 cases of this special beer and every competitor will receive a bottle of this special Bontrager brew.We'll also be awarding the top performing cyclists in each category one of our special 9% ABV Jail Commemorative Ale gift pack.
The Brewery also supply a beer tent with our new 3.7% ABV Dartmoor Best and 4.8% ABV Jail. Bikers like to relax before and after the races with a beer and even get handed a glass of beer as they cross the finish line, they certainly earn it. We like to think it helps them get through those last difficult miles!
Mike Lunney, Head Brewer commented: “We absolutely love this event and are delighted to be sponsoring its 10th year. The race embraces everything great about sport and cycling, serious and fun, everyone is always in such high spirits. The main events are the 12 and 24 hour event, but there are races for children ages 7+ and it can be a real family day. It's set to be another great year, and we're looking forward to seeing you all there.” Share
