Brilliant pubs across the land have been busy sprucing up their gardens for summer drinking in the fresh air, and we salute them all! In the first of our series of features showcasing the Great British Beer Garden, we're pleased to introduce the Greyhound Country Inn.
The Greyhound, a traditional thatched inn, can be found at Fenny Bridges on the outskirts of Honiton (and conveniently close to the A30 trunk road). We know from personal eperience that the Greyhound serves an exceptional pint of our Jail Ale - always spot-on, and a credit to their excellent inn-keeping.
Wayne and Tina have been at the helm since 2014, and have lovingly refurbished the pub inside and out, including the 10 comfortable bedrooms (handy for a stop-over).
Head outside and you'll find a large and well-kept beer garden with lawns, plenty of well-spaced seating and a lovely patio area, all with a back-drop of year-round flowers, hanging baskets and shrubs. The new Garden Bar really adds to the al-fresco experience, whether you're just enjoying some liquid refreshment or hearty food favourites from talented Head Chef Damien Spinks.
You'll find clear and simple instructions on how to use the pub in today's slightly different world - giving you the confidence that you are in a safe and well-run environment, whilst still enjoying all the familiar pleasures of a perfect country pub.
As befits a classic country pub, dogs are very welcome, and you'll get to meet resident dog Roxy, and Missy the fuss-loving black cat.
